That's quite the upgrade. Dual hose FTW.

Can anyone confirm if the Midea listed here as a top pick is the same as this Danby? It looks the same but I can’t tell if it’s actually the same unit, just rebranded, or if it’s different.

It looks like its exactly the same unit but sold under the Midea brand with the same black colour scheme as this Danby rebrand.

How long after the estimated date of delivery does the AC take to arrive? When I checked out, it said estimated delivery on the 19th, but its the end of the 21st and my tracking still says "Label Created" (since the 15th)

Actually, the original was 12,000 BTU with single hose. I actually cancelled 4 of these to order the 14,000 BTU. Oh well, I’m just thankful I got an air conditioner.

Shipments originating in Ontario shipped to Vancouver seem to take a week. I would try to order another air conditioner when Costco restocks rather than continue waiting. You can request a refund from Costco customer service online. If your original shipment does get delivered, then Costco will give you the choice of paying for it (assuming they refunded you because the shipment was not delivered) or refusing the shipment or returning the shipment.

Basically it's all bunched at the bottom since I don't need that much hose and stretched juat enough at the top.
Also, is the black plastic panel supposed to be smooth on my side or the side facing outside? I put it smooth side facing in for aesthetics.
Perfect: the shorter, the better.

How do you guys get fresh air with the air conditioner exhaust tube installed in the window?
*Especially for anyone who installed a piece of rigid insulation over their entire window with mounting tape....it's not like you can easily take that down to get fresh air

Have had this air conditioner for a few days now and it's incredible. It's as good or better than previous giant window units I've had. It puts out a ridiculously huge volume of air and cools down the room very fast unlike any portables I've had before. Hose is light proof which is nice for shift work.
The app functionality (which I'm sure we will lose when in 2 years when its EOL) is really useful.
Went from a dual hose Haier to this and it's no contest.

@SillyRabbit
From my understand from fellow posters in this thread.
The article you posted, Midea makes the rebranded / rebaged Danby at Costco.
Same dual hose inverter. 12000 BTU SACC
I have the Midea from Rona and Danby for 5 min.
Only difference is look of louver, and color. Same hose, functions, btu etc.

If I set up the Midea Air app it wants to use my 2.4g wifi.
Do I need to be connected to my 2.4g wifi to use the app or just for set up?
Thanks.

2.4 GHz only for set-up--your phone can be on 5.0 GHz and it'll connect to the app/AC just fine.

Stupid question here...
I just received my AC, had to carry it with the UPS driver as I have a set of stairs up to the house.
I want to set it up on the 2nd floor but the AC unit is currently on the first floor. Sat for 24 hours already.
I just got my covid shot so my arm is very sore. Will I need to wait another 24 hours after I attempt to slide the AC box up to the 2nd floor?
I'm thinking the answer is yes to be on the safe side.
