Update on consumption.
It went from 1,247W to 470W when hovering at the set temp and down to as little as 4W on fan.
The inverter compressor is making a big difference on use. I would suggest using Auto mode for maximum savings especially if leaving it on the whole day. I find my set temp of 20C the most ideal in maintaining a cold room and not kicking in the fan only mode too soon.
I also didn’t have to drain anything in that mode.

It’s on the top styrofoam which you won’t easily see because you’re pulling it out from the bottom.

I have two big handles for the window that if I had to make a cutout, would allow air to escape. So my route was to remove the plexiglass after the season which is why I wanted a Velcro on them. But if they can make a cutout but still be attached with a pivot point to swing open and close, I might request them to do it.
Can you shed light on yours. Thanks.
Hi @oneframe
Its just velcro holding the AC panel to window frame together. It can be removed easily after summer etc . Did install a the tape myself, purchased from AP.
Regarding the window handle. I asked Roham to make me a cut out for it , and an access cover for bug screen window with handle (my casem*nt awning window push outward) , because I need to open window when AC is on, and close the window to arm the house.
Didn't need to velcro small handle piece on, just layed it against the the panel.
All in all, had AC Panel with hose cutout, and bug screen window with handle cutout velcroed on, and a removable cover made for lil bug screen/handle .
Turn a round time was approx 1 week (ymmv) , you will have to bring the adaptor to the shop for laser cut out.
Hope it helps!
Was my first time getting acrylic fabrication. Was very smooth sailing.

Awesome. Thanks for the detailed explanation! It looks really clean. Yes, they have my AC panel and can't wait to get it hopefully in a week. Cheers.

Np @oneframe
I'm not at best explaining the process. Lol.
Here's pics of before attaching it to window.

Just received 4 A/C units this morning. Two came to my house and the other two to my in-laws.
I looked at my doorbell video footage and saw that the UPS delivery guy had dragged two of my A/C units up 5 steps of stairs (on it's side), along the pavement and then left it beside my lawn in plain sight.
I watched surveillance video from my in-laws house and saw that their UPS delivery guy had both units on a dolly. He appears to know what he is doing until he reaches the stairs (another 5 steps). Pushes one unit off the dolly onto it's side then rolls it up the stairs before spinning it around into the foyer. Did it to both units. Geez...

Better let those ones rest upright for 12 hours instead of the recommended 6

Order was placed July 08, and I just received mine today (Costco estimated July 19 for delivery). I really feel bad for the drivers, as they have to lug this 80lbs+ box so many times this season because of the buying frenzy. Wife and I had to haul this up to the third floor and we aren't exactly THAT out of shape either. Whew!
My window is actually higher than the average window, I think. We have high ceilings in this bedroom, and the hose just barely makes it without feeling stressed/over-stretched. Our window sill is about 54 inches from the floor, in case you're wondering. The window frame is of average depth, 4-5 inches. In case anyone was wondering.
I was told by a good source at Home Depot that these a/c units should be left standing for 24 hours or more to let stuff settle inside. I supposed it's the coolant? I didn't get details but will fire it up tomorrow after it sits for a bit. Has anyone else been told to do this?

Yep. Min 24 hr.
But I wonder if I need to do that if I tilt the AC a bit to flush the water out.

Bought a sheet of foam insulation, and initially was lazy and just duct taped the sh*t out of the end to the hole I cut out. Within a day it had fallen off. So then did it properly, I unscrewed the plastic trim piece from the end of the hose, pushed hose through the foam, and re-installed the trim piece. Taped it for good measure.
It's strong now. The app reads ~10C higher than ambient for the 'outside' temp, but I suspect that's from the casem*nt window not allowing a full exhaust.
In the second image, where do you get the cover for the exhaust nozzle?

The compressor requires the sump to be full of oil during startup. When the unit is on its side or upside down for a while, the oil travels to other parts of the unit and will take a while to return fully to the sump of the compressor. If the compressor is not lubed during startup, you risk permanent damage.
Best to be safe and not start it up overnight.

Just received my units exactly on the promised delivery date. These weigh a good amount so "portable" is a very liberal and broadly interpreted term LOL.

Would it be obvious if your compressor was damaged?

These units are generally not serviceable so the only obvious way is if it didn't work or if the compressor starts making abnormal tinging sounds.

In case others have the same problem -
When I tried to install the Danby app it kept failing on the 12000 BTU. When I installed the Midea app it installed no problem. Then the Danby app worked as well.
Now with the 14000 BTU after I removed the 12000 I couldn't get the Danby or Midea or Nethome app to connect.
This was on my Moto Z Play with Android 8.
So I installed it on my Pixel 4a with Android 11 and it installed properly and also works now on the Moto.
I used the same email and password on all.

Do any of you guys hear a high pitched noise when your unit is powered on and working?
It's a constant noise, but it sort of pulsates like its made by some sort of moving part.
Thanks
