25 In Class Twenty-five noncommissioned officers and airmen, who are Force heating technicians, enrolled in the course which being conducted by Trade High fin cooperation with the New England Fuel Institute. William and Raymond Lindsay, members of the Trade High faculty, are instructors. The course will be completed Friday and those enrolled are slated to receive certificates from the fuel institute and the Air Force. Axman said Wednesday that Trade High was selected by the Air Force to conduct the course after Air Force officials read summer oil burner courses to given at the school persons business and industry. Axtman said AF authorities were impressed with the facilities and equipment at Trade and requested that the instruction program be set up.

The heating technicians supply heat for air base buildings and hangars which house large oil burners with electronic controls so an up-to-date instruction program was necessary, Axman said. Wide Variety of Supjects In the course, the Air Force personnel studied about the characteristics and composition of fuel oils, the various makes of electronic controls for oil burners, and about various types of burners including the horizontal-rotary and gun-type heavy oil burners. The technicians enrolled also had the opportunity to "live fire" the various types of oil burners. Axman said Trade High is the only school in the country offering the course and was selected the Air Force de for its program because of the "wide variety" of equipment at the school. The technicians had the opportunity to work on an electronic training panel at Trade which has the various types of combustion controls.

All equipment for the panel, valued at $1000, was donated by area industries and the New England Fuel Institute. The panel has "all the latest devices," Axtman said, and permits the school to use lastest training methods. Bases Represented Air Force personnel enrolled the course hail from Bergstrom AFB, Loring AFB, Larson AFB, Glasgow AFB, Beale AFB, Plattsburg AFB, N. Carswell AFB, Whiteman AFB, Bunker Hill AFB.
