I made this using only one regular pie crust instead of two puff pastry crusts (calories). I rolled the piecrust large enough to cover the bottom and sides of the springform pan and for the top I used the potato (reversing the order). I spread a little cheese on the top. It was sensational. The piecrust browned nicely around the sides and held everything together very well. The potato as a top crust worked very well also, golden brown and crispy.

I made this with leftover green bean casserole and creamed corn soufle substituted instead of chard and squash, since that is what we had left over. Turned out great.

I'm going to make this post-Thanksgiving for the third time. Hint: Hide enough left-over turkey and mashed potatoes from your family so you'll be sure of having enough.
Julia
I made this with regular pie crust in a pyrex casserole, vegetables and turkey and cheese, topped with mashed potatoes. A winner!

'Made this using thanksgiving leftover white meat, turkey bacon, and no added salt. It was delicious -- though I can see how dark meat, bacon, and salt would make it more flavorful. I guess it all depends on your diet.

Fourth time. Wow. We had left-over gravy too. Do not miss out on this.

We love this. It’s become a tradition for the next day meal! Super easy really with the puff pastry. We now buy that ahead so we’re ready to go! Maybe the best NYT leftovers dish. Though Davids turkey soup is another good one too. That is later in the week!

We had already eaten up our mashed potatoes and the frozen puff pastry I had was way past date, so I eliminated that and lined the bottom with par-boiled slice potatoes. Used kale from our cold frame instead of chard. Wonderful! Will keep this one.

Hi there, mine is in the oven. I can't wait! I'm surprised by the suggested cook time. Do those who've made this find it takes an hour to bake?

First-time effort yesterday and it was spectacular. Looked and tasted divine. Used two purchased pie crusts, and cooked frozen spinach instead of chard. Next time I prepare better ahead to save time. I started yesterday at the last minute but well worth the effort for our Saturday night after thanksgiving dinner. It will be our new tradition.

This was spectacularly delicious. And so lovely to look at too! My family devoured it. Be sure to squirrel gravy and cranberry along with all the other leftovers. I didn’t have leftover greens so just used 2 packs of frozen spinach well-squeezed! Scrumptious.

Very delicious. But a time bandit (and i mean it) between the puff pastry thawing, the pie cooking at two temperatures and resting, plus assemblage. And stripping the bird's carcass. More of a four hour pie. Prepared according to recipe. Cooked chard and squash from scratch as leftover sweet potatoes inappropriate.

This is a great recipe. Accommodates any and all leftovers, hence, we now call it a leftover pie!

Instead of making this into a pie with a crust (gluten intolerance) I layered everything in a large Pyrex casserole baking dish. Also substituted boneless chicken thighs for turkey, cut up into small pieces & sautéed in olive oil with garlic & rosemary, salt & pepper. I used mashed squash topped with a few pats of butter & salt before adding the cheese to that layer. Layered everything as directed, baked as directed. Delicious! Gluten free.

Thinking I'll try this to use the "stir-fry" turkey my butcher packaged and I picked up after the Thanksgiving. Love to mind ways to incorporate chard. My record on crust, however, makes me think I'll do it in a Shepherd's Pie format, mashing the potatoes and using them as the top layer....

Fifth time is now in the oven! Can't wait!
