Ham is one of the best holiday foods – but after dinner is over and the ham is eaten, don’t toss it! Wondering what to do with the rest of the ham? Try my slow cooker hambone soup recipe! You can see more of my easy recipes here.

I’ve got a tasty, easy slow cooker hambone soup recipe to share with you.

When you spend money on a ham, and it’s totally delicious, it’s a crime to just throw the rest away. Enter: ham bone soup. Sounds gross, tastes amazing. My favorite hambone soup recipe is super easy, really tasty, and cooks in the slow cooker so totally convenient as well.

It’s a hearty, comfort-food recipe with tons of veggies and delicious meat. You can leave out any of the vegetable ingredients but I find it’s a great way to sneak in some extra veggies, especially if there are kids eating it.

Start with the ham bone – it’s literally the bone in the middle of the ham + all the meat around it. I know, looks gross. But trust me, you want to save it. Most grocery stores sell ham bones and Honeybaked Ham also has them available daily.

The meat literally falls off the bone – insert Homer Simpson drooling noise here. So good.
