Hi mamas! My doctor ordered a lot of tests on the same LabCorp script. It is A LOT like 15 different tests. I struggle with blood work and often pass out. Does anyone know if LabCorp lets you split the script into a couple different sittings. Say do half the tests one day and the other half a few days later? Thank you!!!

hey, 15 different tests shouldn’t be more than 4 tubes of blood. You should be okay to do them in 1 sitting. Hope this helps.

Some tests only require 0.5 to 1ml of blood just depends on the test but a single SST tube can carry 8.5 ml of blood so it shouldn’t be too many tubes.

I’m the same exact way! I’m already stressing bloodwork lol can you have them come to your house? I’m scheduling that this time around and it is easing my anxiety a little bit.

@kprs2,
yeah for my first pregnancy that service wasn’t available but now because of Covid, it’s pretty common for them to do house calls. It’s just a $99 fee which to me is well worth it because half of my anxiety is just getting to the office and sitting in an uncomfortable chair.

@kprs2,
your OB will send the orders to LabCorp and you just call and schedule with them! Hope it works out for you ❤️

I’m not a fan of getting blood work done (have literally passed out on more than one occasion) and I got my initial bloodwork and genetic testing done this past Monday. They took 12 vials but it was really okay. I turn my head away and focus on something else, but it didn’t feel any different giving 12 versus 1. The worst part for me is always the anticipation so I got it all done at once so I only had to have that anticipation worry once as well. You’ll be okay :)

I have also passed out before and almost passed out a couple other times. I just had my blood work done today and they took 12 vials. Obviously I was already nervous but went into panic mode watching her pull all the vials. Thankfully my husband was with me and I let my tech know about my past/anxiety and she was awesome. I turned my head completely away and she and my husband were great about talking to me while it was going on. It felt longer than it was but probably only a minute or 2 and then over. I made it and felt fine. I know the anticipation is the hardest part. Can your husband come with you? I’ve never had him there with me before but it made a huge difference for me.
