It’s that time of year again…the time when husbands are glued to the tv, and rivalries run rampant. It is time for that Big Game, and with it, all those delicious foods and appetizers.

Can you tell what my favorite part of football season is? In case it wasn’t obvious, I will just tell you. It is the food! I love hosting a party, serving the best ever snacks, and drinks, and basically having a great time with a little football thrown in.

This year I wanted my party to have a little something for everyone, so I went with a choose your side option. Choose your team. Choose your DiGiorno Pepperoni STUFFED CRUST® Pizzadip. Choose your flavor of Ritz. Choose your flavored ice cubes for your Coca-Cola.Basically no middle of the roaders allowed here. You have to pick, and picking never tasted so good!

I love making my own pizzas, but when I am getting ready for a party, the last thing I want to do is roll out dough. And with DiGiorno® Pepperoni STUFFED CRUST® Pizza I don’t have to. This party was so fun, the food was great, and the work was minimal which meant I got to actually enjoy my guests.

It is so easy to just keep a few pizzas in the freezer, and since they have real mozzarella cheese, and use California vine-ripened tomatoes, I can feel great about serving them to my family and guests. All I have to do is bake, which is easy peasy. (In fact, my oven broke the night before the game, so I just ran over to a neighbor’s house. So even if you don’t have an oven of your own it is easy. All fixed now.)

So I picked a few up on Rollback at Walmart, and then I served them with three dipping sauces: pesto, marinara, and garlic alfredo! So much fun.

Along with that I served the necessary queso dip. You know, the dip you find at every football party on the planet? Well, there is a reason for that. I love serving that dip with the deliciously crispy and buttery Ritz crackers. And to keep with my theme, guests could pick Original or Whole Wheat Ritz crackers. They also make darling football shaped ones!

So let me tell you how easy it was to make this dip…basically toss all the ingredients in a crock pot and set it on low. A couple hours later you are good to go!

The biggest hit of my party was the flavor your own co*ke option! I had ice cubes flavored with cherry and vanilla, and guests got to select their preference (or mix and match). This was especially popular with the younger crowd!

My party had a black and red theme, and so I loved how perfectly the bottles of co*ke complimented it. And I used cutesy straws and foam hands to make it even more fun!

Did I mention making the ice cubes was easy peasy? While I was at Walmart picking up all my party supplies I grabbed a bottle of maraschino cherries, and I just put a spoon full of them into each ice cube slot. I did the same with about a half teaspoon of vanilla. It gave the ice cubes a great mild flavor which perfectly chilled and flavored our party drinks!

Of course, what is a football party without football shaped foods? So I used my trustygingerbread recipe and a football cookie cutter and frosting to make these darling sweets. And I may have had to plate them on a smaller plate because I could not stop eating them!

I threw in some veggies, with cute accents and details, and put them in my stadium to cheer for a great party! Then added popcorn and chocolate because everyone loves popcorn and chocolate!

I had so much fun throwing this, and felt like all the little details really pulled it together and made it fun for everyone involved. But my favorite part was just how totally easy it was. I am usually pretty stressed before a party because I like everything to be perfect, and this was so easy. The only thing I made from scratch (that wasn’t super simple) was the cookies, and you could always buy gingerbread dough if you wanted to skip that part!

If you want to make your game day homegating party a breeze, just head over to Walmart and pick up all the staples! You won’t regret it. And you may even be able to find them all together in one place, but if not, don’t worry, they are pretty easy to locate throughout the store. Plus they are on Rollback, so you can save some $$!

I’ve shared my game day party plans with you, and my tips for making it easy peasy. I’d love to hear about your plans for the Big Game! Leave a comment sharing your family tradition and plans!

This is way too cute! I love the details- especially the ice cubes. Did you add in anything in with the vanilla, or just the vanilla alone?

Is it a 1/2 tsp. for each ice cube slot?

    • Rachael says

Lisa, that is what I did, but of course you can adjust for your preference. I was thinking about how big the glasses are that I was planning to serve the drinks in, and wanted to make sure there was enough flavor to impact the entire glass. But please adjust according to personal preference.

Thank you! I just saw at my local Walmart that the gingerbread cookie dough was on sale (Christmas is over) so I am thinking it would be really easy to make them with a premade dough! And fun for kids to help too!
